厚地康雄さんは、直前のキャスト変更によりバーミンガムロイヤル・バレエの来日公演、『眠れる森の美女』で佐久間奈緒さんと3回主演されました。自分の取っていたチケットの日ではなくて残念ですが、地元バーミンガムでも文句なしの活躍ぶりで、見事プリンシパルに。
水谷実喜さんも、同じくバーミンガムロイヤル・バレエの来日公演、兵庫公演でオーロラ役を踊りました。今月28日のバレエ・アステラス2018に出演予定です。

Callum Findlay-White, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist.
Tori Forsyth-Hecken, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist.
Isabella Howard, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist.
Yu Kurihara, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist. 栗原ゆう
Lennart Steegen, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist.
Yuki Sugiura, graduate of the Royal Ballet School, will join as an Artist. 杉浦優妃
Eilish Small, graduate of the Australian Ballet School, joined as an Artist earlier in 2018.
Joseph Taylor, graduate of Elmhurst Ballet School, will join as an Apprentice for the 2018/19 season. Joseph is the recipient of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Elmhurst Ballet School Award for Excellence.
ロイヤル・バレエスクールを卒業した栗原ゆうさん、杉浦優妃さんが入団します。栗原ゆうさんは、7月21日に開催される横浜バレエフェスティバルに出演します。
退団
ともに1995年に入団し、23年間にわたって活躍してきたプリンシパルの佐久間奈緒さんと、ツァオ・チーが退団します。ふたりは素晴らしいパートナーシップを築いてきており、ビントレー振付の『シルヴィア』の初演キャストを務めました。『シルヴィア』ではこのふたりは新国立劇場バレエ団にもゲスト出演しています。ツァオ・チーは、映画『小さな村の小さなダンサ―』に主演。佐久間さんは、近年では夫君の厚地康雄さんとの共演も増えてきていました。
同じくプリンシパルで、今年の来日公演にも出演したジェンナ・ロバーツも退団。またシーズンの途中で、やはりプリンシパルのイアン・マッケイも引退しました。
